Demi Lovato once said that her father's funeral was the hardest thing she's ever had to go through.
And one year on from his tragic death, Demi Lovato took a moment to share some heart-wrenching photos from the 1990s of her with dad Patrick Lovato, who tragically passed away after a battle with cancer.
In the sepia toned images shared on Twitter, Demi, 21, is seen as a young girl as she poses with Patrick in the front seat of his car. She said, movingly: 'Can't believe it's already been a year.. Wish I could've hugged you one last time.. RIP Daddy, I love you.'

Following up, she said poignantly: 'My dad suffered from severe mental illness so at least there's peace in knowing he's not suffering anymore.'
And it appears she was the apple of his eye as a bearded Patrick gazes down at his daughter, who sits on his lap and grasps the steering wheel.
In turn, Demi was clearly a daddy's girl, looking up at her father with adoration.

The pair also share a hug and a kiss in the heartwarming photographs.
Meanwhile, the actress seems to be doing well and feeling comfortable and confident in her own skin.
